Festive Traditions eBook Review and Giveaway!
I'm so excited to tell you about this e-book.
Is it because I think Jill Marks, the editor of Modern Alternative Kitchen, is a super talented lady with some kick-butt recipes? Is it because I happened to contribute one of the recipes and I'm a little bit giddy about it? Is it because I think everyone who gathers for a holiday meal should real this book for inspiration on how to make delicious and healthy holiday food?
Yes. Yes. And yes!
I had the privilege of being one of the recipe testers for this lovely book. (By the way...recipe testing is REALLY FUN.) One of the questions I was asked to answer about each recipe was "Would you recommend this to your friends?" And, without exception, my answer was yes.
I know, that's a lot of yesses. Just bein' honest, friends.
Here's what struck me about Jill's recipes: they are simple. Where I would have been tempted to add more ingredients, Jill kept things simple and let the already delicious flavors of real food stand out. I was pleasantly surprised with each one I tested.
The Oatmeal Pecan Waffles have become a staple in our home. The Sweet Potato Casserole is the only one I've ever tasted that rivals my family's beloved recipe. And I think I could eat the whole batch of Spinach Artichoke Dip in one sitting.
Want to health-ify your favorite green bean casserole or cheesy potatoes? Or find an alternative to store-bough egg nog? Or maybe you're hosting Christmas for the first time this year and you need to learn how to roast the perfect bird? Look no further than Festive Traditions: a Real Food Guide to the Holidays.
